Our Difference:  Annual Charity Carnival

Staten Island Day Camp is an integral part of the Staten Island community in that every year there is a Charity Carnival.  The Charity Carnival historically is scheduled on the Friday of the sixth week of camp.   SIDC pays for all the expenses of the Carnival thus enabling us to donate 100% of the funds raised to the designated charity.   Parents, grandparents and friends are welcome to attend the Carnival.  Parents,  community members, and businesses donate baskets and  prizes for the raffle.   We have had local business make monetary donation.  SIDC takes great pride in being able to donate funds to a local charity and it serves to inform our campers of the importance of helping others.  In the past SIDC has dedicated the Charity Carnival to the charities to the right:

  • Provided a donation to the education foundation for the children of on duty NYPD officer Miosotis Familia who was killed in the line of duty
  • Provided a donation to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation
  • Provided a donation to the NYC Chapter Make a Wish Foundation
  • Provided a donation to the education foundation of FDNY Lt Gordon Ambelas' two  daughters (of Staten Island) who died in the line of duty
  • Provided a donation to the NYC Chapter of Autism speaks
